BLT RANCH DIP

A BLT sandwich is the perfect summer lunch or even dinner. Fresh tomatoes and lettuce with crispy bacon! You really can't go wrong. In honor of this perfect summer sandwich, I am sharing my BLT ranch dip recipe. This has all the flavors of a BLT sandwich with a little ranch added... but in dip form. It's the perfect appetizer for all of your summer get togethers!

This dip got rave reviews at a gathering we had Saturday night! Not only is this dip absolutely delicious but how pretty does it look?! Our guests couldn't get enough and cleared the whole plate before the night was over. It honestly didn't even make it until the end of the night It's super addictive... good luck trying just one bite! You can make this the day of your party as long as it has time to chill in the fridge for a couple hours or even the night before. It takes a few steps but is super simple! It has a ranch dip base and is topped with fresh lettuce, tomato, bacon, and cheddar cheese. Just serve it with club crackers or chips for dipping.

I started out with the bacon. I find it so much easier to cook bacon in the oven than on the stove top. It's way less clean up too! Just line a cookie sheet with aluminum foil, place your bacon on top, and bake until crispy (about 15-20 minutes at 400 degrees... just keep an eye on it towards the end so it doesn't burn). Place your cooked bacon on paper towels to cool and to catch any extra grease.

After the bacon is cooked, it's time to mix together your ranch base. This is softened cream cheese, sour cream, and the packet of Ranch dip. Mix until well combined and set aside.  I used a packet of Hidden Valley Ranch Dip mix for this. The ranch mix is very strong at first, so it's important to let your finished product sit in the fridge for an hour or two to let the flavors settle together. You could even make your ranch mix the day before and let it sit in the fridge and then just assemble it all before serving.

Next, chop up your lettuce, tomatoes, and crumble the bacon. I used cherry tomatoes and sliced them in half lengthwise. I also cut up the lettuce and made sure to remove any of the hard middle stems.

After all of your ingredients are prepped, it's time to assemble your delicious masterpiece. I used a regular dinner sized serving plate and put the ranch mixture in the middle of it. Just use a spatula to spread it out evenly, leaving a little space from the edge. After that, add the lettuce, cheese, tomatoes, and finish up with the bacon. The 4th of July is a few days away and this appetizer would work perfectly for it!
