NEW SCHOOL YEAR TEACHER SURVIVAL GIFT PRINTABLE
Wow can you believe summer is over and we are back to school!? Well really, with all of the COVID-19 stuff, we kind of went from spring break right into starting a new school year. Time was flying by and dragging on all at the same time during quarantine. Home-schooling, starting in March after we went home for spring break and didn’t go back, was difficult to say the least and not something I was prepared for! I’m a graphic designer, not a teacher. I mean, that 5th grade math can be hard!
With this crazy time right now, I wanted to make something special for my kid’s new teachers. We came up with the idea of a New School Year Teacher Survival Kit and I kinda love how they turned out! This year, more than ever, kindness, grace, and a little pampering is what everyone needs… and maybe a little chocolate and hand sanitizer too!
My kids officially started back to school yesterday. Our school district came up with a new blended schooling plan… half capacity, two days in person at school and the rest of the week is virtual, masks, hand sanitizers, etc. It’s not the way I would have ever pictured school looking like but here we are! We are two days in and they have been making the best of it.
We thought a survival kit would be the perfect gift. In our “Survival Kit” we added things to help get the teachers through the first few days of school. We included:
Chocolate
Hand Sanitizer
Chapstick
Coffee Gift Card
Hand Lotion
Gum
The sky’s the limit. You can add anything else that you think your kiddos teacher may need to “survive” during this crazy time! If I had extra time, I would have put a cute mask in there too since our school is required to wear them.
On to the fun part! We are providing this editable printable for free to our readers! We have included the editable file that you change the name on as well as a blank file that you just print and write on. See below for directions, tips, and the free printable!
WHAT YOU NEED TO MAKE THESE TEACHER SURVIVAL KITS:
-Our free editable file (see below)
-White card stock and a printer (or just email the file to your local print shop or store like Office Depot, FedEx, etc. to print them out.)
-Scissors
-Washi tape or double sided tape to attach to a pencil box
-A pencil box and fun things to put in your box like chocolate, hand sanitizer, gum, etc.
-paper shreds like shown to fill the box up
DIRECTIONS:
• Download our freebie below. You can use the blank file and just have your kiddo write their names on the line or use our editable file to edit the text directly on the printable in Adobe Reader before printing.
• Print out the printable on white card stock
• Cut them out and attach to your pencil box
• Add your goodies to the pencil box
EDITING TIPS:
-To edit the printables: Using a computer, click the link below. Download and save the file to your computer. Open Adobe Reader (this is a free download at adobe.com but most computers already have it) and open the saved file. Any editable text will be highlighted by a blue box, enter your text and save the edited file before printing. The blue boxes will not show up in print.
Editing the file directly in your web browser will not work correctly, you do need to save the file and open/edit it in Adobe Reader. Only files labeled with “editable” will allow you to edit them.
Along with the editable file, we have included the non-editable blank file that comes with an empty name line so you can print and then write the names in. The files are labeled. If you have any questions or issues editing the file, just let us know. We are happy to help!
